After trying out quite a number of mechanical keyboard and topre switches, the keyboard I used most of the time was the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition keyboard. I find that this keyboard suits me best during both gaming and typing.
Topre switches are great for typing and coding. If you are a full-time programmer or writer, having a keyboard with Topre switches may serve you well. Giving you pleasure as you worked throughout your day. However, as for me, I do play games quite a bit. Hence, the happy hacking keyboard does not serve me well. I eventually sold it to someone else who will utilise it better than me.
How about the other mechanical keyboard? Cooler master and Corsair. Trust me, I would be using CM TK keyboard if it wasn't for my brother using it all the time. Corsair is great but I prefer a compact size keyboard which saves me some space on my desk. Since I used to draw, I need space for my tablet and mouse. Unfortunately, I am not blessed with a huge enough table.
That being said, ultimate decision still lies on you. No matter whether you are deciding on the switches, or keyboards layout, do be mindful that everyone has different needs. Researching and seeking a second opinion is great, but do focus on your needs more than others. What suits them may not suit you.
