Ducky Zero DK2108S Mechanical Keyboard Review

Yet another review on mechanical keyboard! This time, it will be on the ducky zero dk2108s mechanical keyboard. Why the ducky zero and not the ducky shine 3? The main reason would certainly be the price! It's one of the cheaper mechanical full keyboard in the market, the ducky zero dk2108s.

Grab a picture of how ducky zero looks like on the ducky taiwan website. The first thing you would notice would be that the keyboard is fully back light. There are two different colours available, blue and orange. The blue looks really attractive to me. The feature that attracts me most would be the full keyboard which allows me to do data entry using this keyboard as well. Not only you can use it for gaming, a full keyboard would definitely enhance the typing experience when you need to deal with numbers all the time.

Some features of this keyboard would be that it uses USB port and it allows for N or 6 key rollovers. I guess I will need the manual to find out how each of this work. In addition to this, the keyboard has UV coated and lasered key caps, which is great. It will allow the letters of the keys on the keyboard to last quite a while.

For the ducky zero dk2108s, it is available with a variety of switches in fact. However, on the website, they only show you the brown switches. After much research, I think the brown switches will suit me quite well. They are not too loud and provide a tactile feedback so that you know that you have activate the key just by feeling the feedback. Also, I have tried the brown switches in one of the computer accessories store in bugis, I just like the feel of the brown switch and the blue one. Red is much too light and easy to press for my preference. However, for those who needs to double tap a lot, do give red and black switches a consider as well, those are linear switches. Anyway, with my knowledge, I think if I remember correctly, the ducky zero dk2108s is available in red, blue, brown and black switches. I look around the web stores from Taiwan and China for that information, however, there may be more switches available which I may not be aware of.

Last, but not least, the keyboard also enable window lock which is rather important for competitive gamers would gets frustrated when you hit the window key on your keyboard accidentally and end up being switch out of your game. Fret not as this keyboard enables window key on the keyboard to be lock, hence, you won't be switch out of your game even if you pressed them accidentally. Well, and I just realize that the N-Key rollover key is just beside it, I guess that would be the key you press to enable the N-Key rollover.

That's about it for this keyboard. Personally, the major attractiveness would be the price and it's certainly for people who wants an entry mechanical keyboard to try the key switches and get used to it before completely switching to the mechanical keyboard. So how much is this? If you decide to buy this through a web store in the local country, it cost about SGD 105 excluding shipping, which is around USD 84. This is consider quite affordable compared to the higher end mechanical keyboard like Razer ultimate which cost SGD 219, twice the price of this keyboard. Hence, for those out there who are looking for a mechanical keyboard but are on a tight budget, you may want to consider this particular model of ducky keyboard.

So! Have you decided? I haven't...

Ciao~
