Review: KBTalking Vortex Race II Mechanical Keyboard

For tonight, I will be doing a short review on the KBTalking Vortex Race II mechanical keyboard. A point to note will be that I do not own this keyboard and below are the specifications and my personal opinion on the keyboard itself. It may not be the perfect and actual definitions of the keyboards, however, feel free to read it as a research or review if you are considering to buy the above mechanical keyboard.

The KBTalking Vortex Race II is actually a 75% keyboard. This means it does not come with a number pad. It is simple and efficient to type on for those who rarely needs the number pad and for those who prefer to have your mouse closer to your keyboard. There are gamers out there who believes that having your mouse closer to you will reduce the stress you in your posture while you are gaming.

This keyboard is available with a variety of switches, so far I have came across red, blue, brown, black switches. Some people told me that there are also clear switches for this model, however, I haven't research deeper into this, hence, I will not be able to confirm if clear switches is available for this mechanical keyboard model.

As for my opinion, I find that having this keyboard would really save up quite an amount of space on your table as it is a really compact keyboard. It's quite amazing to have one if your table really lacks the space and you need space for writing and drawing.

Moreover, it allows you to have your mouse closer to you and that might actually improves your gaming experience. I think that for those who rarely use the num pad and those who are quite into gaming, this might unexpectedly be a pretty good investment to improve your typing experience and gaming experience.

For this keyboard, they have rubber soles on the bottom to keep the keyboard from slipping when you are typing or spamming your keys during gaming. One point to note is that most keyboards would provide you clips on the bottom to allow for you to incline your keyboard if you prefer that. I used my keyboard this way, having it incline upwards at the back. This keyboard does not provide this feature. However, considering that it is a compact keyboard and the design itself does have a slight inclination to it, I guess, this would not be a concern to me at all.

As most mechanical keyboards, this KBTalking Vortex Race II also includes the back lights for you have type and game in the dark. Most gamers tend to stay up through the night while gaming and this would definitely be a plus point. Not only does it look cool, it may also help you save some money having to on the lights throughout the night. Or having your room mates complaining about having the lights on and he/she can't sleep at all.

Of course, the back lights is not limited to green color, there are a variety of colors available: white, blue, purple and others which I may not have noticed them yet. I have a preference of having back lights for my keyboard as my family live in a rental unit, we have to share a room. Due to the bad health conditions of my mum, she tends to rest quite early while I tend to read and note down important points till quite late at night. Having a back-lit keyboard really helps to minimizing the lightings in my room so that she will be able to rest well despite me having to work and read till late at night.

If you did read my previous reviews, you will know that I believe that all of us have different preferences and buying a mechanical keyboard is just choosing one out of the sea of mechanical keyboards out there that suits your preference. I couldn't tell you what is the best keyboard as I may not know you well. After all you will be the best decision maker for yourself, so choose the one that fits your needs most and avoid blindly following the majority and simply buying one that is popular but unsuitable for you.

Well happy deciding! Until next time....
