Review: KeyCool Mechanical keyboard 87 keys blue switches

Since I have some free time now, I can do this review which I intended to do yesterday. It's the review of Keycool Mechanical Keyboard. I got one with blue switches as a gift from my cousin. I am grateful to him. I didn't expect to receive one as a gift though. I thought he was going to treat me Macdonald meal.

I am not too used to the keyboard yet. However, I will try my best to do up this review. The pictures posted will be the Keycool mechanical keyboard that I had.

As you can see above, this is the keycool mechanical keyboard I have gotten from my cousin. He got it shipped directly to my rented unit and so it's a totally new mechanical keyboard with blue switches. I have not really gotten used to the blue switches due to the clicks, however, I am sure that I will get used to it soon.

My first impression of this keyboard is that even though I have never heard of the manufacturer much as compared to ducky, cooler master, corsair, this keyboard is definitely not inferior compared to those. It felt pretty sturdy when I hold it for the first time. I just didn't expected it to be that heavy and sturdy. The keys on the keyboards are pretty nice as well. Easy to press and they even gifted one extra set of blue keycaps for the mechanical keyboard which I have not change them. I might do that when I am free.

In addition to the extra set of blue key caps, they also included a key puller, and five other superheros logo key caps. The one I used would represents spiderman if I didn't remember wrongly.

The keyboard has a blue back light, however, it is not limited to this color only. There are other choices of colors for back lighting of the keyboard. I don't understand why my cousin chose blue, perhaps that is his favorite color. Anyway, the back light is definitely good for those who needs to type a lot in the night or in a dimly lit room.

As for the space lighting, it is slightly different from the rest of the keys on the keyboard. Its by the side and labeled with the keycool logo.

As you can see, the keycool keyboard is manufactured in China, they used modified and imitated cherry MX switches. They are not cherry MX brand, however, they definitely feel similar. Due to this, the price of the keyboard is definitely more affordable as compared to those mainstream branded mechanical keyboard. Suppose you do not need the led back lighting, the price of this keyboard without led back light is definitely cheaper.

The things I like about this keyboard would definitely be the sturdiness of the keyboard, the led back light, the price and well pretty much everything. The only thing that bothers me would be the blue switches. I have tried using this keyboard for around two days, and I can't seem to get used to typing with blue switches. Unfortunately, I should perhaps ask him to buy me the red or black switches instead as those switches don't have clicks and perhaps it will be easier for me to adapt to typing on them. However, I wouldn't give up trying.

I will post a video review on the keyboard as soon as I have got all the equipments needed for me to do up a video.

Just a point to note, the above are generally my personal views on the keyboard but it may not be accurate and right as there are always others with conflicting opinions. You may just treat it as one of the many references for you to read when considering this particular mechanical keyboard.

Until the video review, we will see you again in other posts this weekend.

Later...~
