Keeping a positive outlook in life - Applicable to everybody

I did not go to today yet I have not rest a single bit. Most of the time, I am preoccupied checking on the status of my work as well as my email. Even though I may not be at work, my heart is. This is the problem with me. I should have given myself a break so that I will be able to walk further without burning out.

Now, the reason for this post of mine comes from a newspaper article that I had came across recently. It is about more young adult getting burnt out faster because of longer working hours and stressful working environment. It talks about how people are less efficient when our working hours are getting longer and longer. One of the point they made was because of 'face time'. If you don't know what face time is, it is the time when you stay in office because your boss has not gone home and going home on time makes you look bad and lazy. However, do you think that staying back while your heart is already home makes no different at all. We are not making good and efficient use of our time even though we know that they are very limited.

Sometimes things may not be as bad as we thought it is. You need to solve a problem with different approaches and maintain a positive outlook so that you won't be depressed all the time. Once you have tried all possible solutions that you can think of and the problem is yet to be solved, then perhaps you will need to consider if the possibility of an incompatibility (perhaps because of the nature of the job position, or the environment itself just does not suit you). No matter what you end up doing, or where you end up in, the most important thing remains the same. That is your well-being. Most of us worked because of simple reason: our needs and our wants. (Sometimes we even need to mask these reasons to make them sound honourable and attractive to employers, it can't be help.) However, if our work brings us misery and break us down (physically or mentally), it may be actually worth it to let go.

The reason I am typing this post is to remind myself to remain positive no matter what happens. The worse thing that can happen is just a need to find another suitable job. But at the very least it provides an opportunity to be happier and healthier.

Sometimes seeing a problem or an obstacle as an opporunity can make your life so much easier. I guess it is not too late for me to realize that.

Have a good rest and work moderately hard for tomorrow.
