Whether the mechanical keyboard is backlit matters....

Since I am on the topic on mechanical keyboard, I will do up something short on one of the features of some mechanical keyboards and that is the back lights.

Well, for those of you who has done up a little research on mechanical keyboards, you will realize that some models has backlit keyboards while others are just normal ones which does not light up. Normally, the normal ones will be less expensive compared to those with back lights in them. However, there are exceptional cases across different brands and models as well. So one question you may have in your mind would be perhaps, will it be worth it to spend extra on getting one which is backlit or perhaps the normal ones will be suffice. The answer would lie within yourself and your environment that you used your keyboard in.

Most gamers who spend long hours gaming through the night will definitely prefer a backlit keyboard compared to a regular one. Sometimes the lightings are not as well as night, especially when you don't own the room yourself and when you will have to share the bedroom with your family or friends. That is when the backlit keyboard who be extremely useful as you can't possibly on the lights when someone else who like to sleep while you are gaming. On the other hand, if you are using your computer in an environment which is well lit most of them time, then perhaps you may not want to spend the extra cash on a backlit mechanical keyboard.

It's pretty much a personal preference. Some people may think that backlit mechanical keyboard will look cooler and give them an extra sense of satisfaction when they own and use it, hence, motivating them to get one without considering the real need for the lightings. While others due to limited budget, they will get perhaps get the best that they will be able to afford just for their typing purposes. Whether the keyboard has the function of back lights will not be the core consideration for them.

A backlit keyboard is definitely something worth investing in as not only it will increase your accuracy while tying in the dark, you can also control the brightness level of your keyboard so that it will not be too bright for your roommates who may be sharing the same room as you do. Perhaps, if you are working in an environment which may not be well lit, having such a keyboard with controls over the brightness level will be definitely a useful feature. 

Perhaps there are other considerations of backlit keyboards that I have not covered such as the different lighting modes available, some customizable lighting features in certain brands of keyboards and other slightly special ones like the ducky shine which has different lighting effects which is interactive of the keys you hit on your keyboard. These features actually varies from brand to brand and it will be difficult to talk about them in general. Hence, do keep a mental note that if you are looking in the lighting modes and effects, different brands of keyboards will have different modes available and some may have effects while others are restricted to normal back lighting. 

So think about yourself and your needs while deciding whether to buy one with back lights or perhaps a normal one will do...You're the one using it, hence, the keyboard should be compatible to your needs and your environment. No one can give you the right and exact recommendation, they can only tell you about the goods and the bads of the keyboard. Ultimately, you are the one who would make the final call...!
