Motivation - IF you have that, you will enjoy living in this world comparatively.
However, if you do not have any of the above, perhaps it will be rather difficult for you to keep up with the pace of life nowadays in many cities.
It seems like inflation is endless, the real income gain for lower and middle income seems stagnant (well, not growing at all). Yes, we should all justify this through data collected over time. This is the academic way of doing things. Yet, resources put into this just give us results and more results. Why aren't there any solutions implemented? Perhaps, there is. Just that the impact of those solutions are just negligible.
Apparently, it was announced to us that there will not be bonuses nor salary raise this year in the company. With a salary much lower that the market rate, now we are not getting any bonus as well. It is no wonder more that half of the employees are quitting. I should leave soon too since the position does not provide sufficient financial stability for me to support my family. Not sure about the other departments, but for the past 12 months, my team had a 100% turnover rate. That shows how bad the company was treating its employees. Yes, we are not to judge since we chose to work there. However, choices were limited due to the limited jobs availability and the exponentially increasing population and influx of human beings.
With so much changes happening around us, it's no wonder there are people who are unable to catch up and left behind or excluded by the society. As long as our GDP is moving forward, nothing matters much I guess. It is fine to leave others behind when they are unable to catch up.Yes, there might be courses for the lower income to improve their skills and knowledge so as to earn a salary raise and live better. However, the amount of raise does not reward equally for the effort they had put in to improve themselves. It is not like they can jump from the lower income tier to the middle income tier. Well, to cover the theory behind this is probably too much for this post.
I apologize as this blog was not meant for Economics, though I majored in that originally. I just wanted to record down what I think currently after seeing and experiencing various incidents resulting in such thoughts. I really hope things would better in the near future (this is nearly impossible). More people would be able to live comfortably and not just the fortunate few. (Of course, I am looking at the macro perspective)
This blog will probably be updated slower than usual as I might not have much time to do up tutorials in recent months due to overload of work. As much colleagues are leaving, the rest of us will have to cover a larger scope of work with no bonus nor pay increases nor OT.
Pray that lady luck would look at me during her free time. (At least grant me an interview?)
Anyway, it's the end of the weekend. Hope you guys are enjoying and resting!
Smile more and think young!
