I think being able to think positively is one of the best traits you can have as a human. It could make you less prone to skepticism, discrimination and bullying which happens in every work place. As long as there are ranks and social status involved, it is difficult to prevent such things from happening.
There is a saying that goes "it is easy to point finger at others, while you are probably never going to point finger at yourself". Well, can you believe it? The very person who tells me that she is against bullying and discriminating is doing the exact same thing in the office herself. Imagine this you have five trades in a day and two juniors, the way you should split the trades up would be easily three and two. Perhaps two for the junior whom you like, and three for the one you don't. But I got all four of them. While another sat there surfing instagram. I had to input all the past data for an incoming client. Due to the lack in knowledge and experience for our office (perhaps they are doing it on purpose without me realizing), I had to re-key in all of them more than three times today. When it isn't my fault as I was asked to key in the data in a specific way, they would just comment that because of me this was done more than a million times already. How exaggerating is that? I don't understand much, but even if I am not socially apt, I can tell them they just favor the other junior over me. As the MD and supervisor are both not in, I guess even if they went this far, I have no one to complain to. Well, even if they are in, I may not do that as I know that I am not in favored in any way. Most of the time it is not about the amount of work and time you put into your job, it is about how to present yourself useful in front of the important people in the company. It doesn't matter if you are productive or slacking during the day at work. Well, unfortunately, these kinds of things are the things that we all learned and yet shouldn't and couldn't voice it out honestly. Of course, you are not afraid of losing you job, you could actually voice it out.
The above is just limited to my experience. Maybe the environment I am in is better than some of you out there. Maybe the environment I am in is worse than some of you out there. There are always two sides to a coin, heads and tails. In this case, positive and negative. Of course, some of us would like to take a neutral as much as possible. Being human, being bias is almost unavoidable. I don't deny that I am pretty bias, especially towards my family and relatives.
However, no matter what our stands are, we know that if you are in an environment which you will be discriminated and bullied, you will definitely be depressed and dejected. That is why, I need to be more positive and believe that things would turn for the better and not the worse. I have been hoping it is so for quite some time, but things just prove itself otherwise.
I really need it, a way to think positively. I wonder if there are any out there for me to learn. Perhaps I should take the either positive or negative stand so that I could persuade myself that I have no reason to be depressed or dejected. One of my friends told me that if you are not appreciated, it's not your loss. You could just take a medical certificate and rest a couple of days at home. The company will still have to pay you for it. Yes, I know that no matter how hard I work, nothing will be appreciate. But my values just stop me from heeding her suggestion.
If only it's easy for one to change, I wouldn't choose to be who I am. Life is so much difficult with my personality. Well, I am who I am. Now, time to learn to be positive.
Let's start now! Tomorrow will be a better day, for sure! I believe!!!!!!!
Done. Did it work?
Let's see tomorrow.
Have a good rest people, and updating blog in progress..... ... .. . . . . . . . . . .
